GAP - The first New Year's Eve without restrictions due to the corona pandemic took place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

There were small fires that were quickly extinguished by the fire brigade.

Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the building

On January 1st, 2023 at around 12:10 a.m., the Garmisch-Partenkirchen police station was informed of a fire in the Schüsselkarweg in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

On arrival, it was found that a hedge was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire brigade rushed to extinguish the fire.

The fire brigade was only able to prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent building thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire brigade.

Two cars parked in front of the burning hedge were affected by the fire in the form of soot deposits.

The material damage is estimated at around 10,000 euros.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

However, there is an obvious connection with the setting off of fireworks.

Balcony was on fire: residents had to be evacuated
