Their action and their journey for the benefit of the common interest are rewarded.

Four personalities working in the Val-de-Marne are among those decorated with the promotion of January 1, 2023 of the Legion of Honor, which has just been published in the official journal.

Starting with a big name in health: Professor Amine Benyamina.

This 56-year-old psychiatrist is at the head of one of the most prestigious addiction services in France, that of the Paul-Brousse hospital in Villejuif.

Described as a hard worker, trained in Algeria, he landed in France and knew how to find a place for himself in this specialized environment.

He is literally adored by some of his patients: "This doctor is really brilliant, he is a big name in France and he saved my life", breathes this father who fell into alcoholism and became sober after his care. .

He is also responsible for relations with learned and international societies within the French Society of Alcoholism (SFA).

“A reward for my city”

On the elected side, a figure from Val-de-Marne is decorated with the prestigious Legion: Christine Janodet, 66, mayor of Orly since 2009. She is hailed for her 42 years of service to the nation.

This promotion comes at the right time: Christine Janodet has just announced her resignation as mayor and departmental councillor.

She wants to hand over to her assistant Imène Souid-Ben Cheikh, who is her deputy in the department.

According to our information, it was Olivier Klein, Minister of Housing, who proposed the name of Christine Janodet to the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor.

Both know each other well for having worked together on Orly town planning files when Olivier Klein was president of the National Agency for Urban Renewal (Anru).

“I am very honored by this distinction, even if I have the feeling that I do not deserve it, confides Christine Janodet.

It marks my commitment to the living environment of Orlysians.

It is a reward for me but especially for my city and its inhabitants.

Previously, he was head of the Electronic Communications Regulatory Authority (Arcep) after spending several years in ministerial cabinets under the presidency of François Hollande.

Finally, Emmanuelle Wargon, 51, is distinguished in this promotion of January 1.

Resident of Saint-Mandé, she was Minister in charge of Housing under Jean Castex until May 2022 and now chairs the Energy Regulation Commission (CRE).

In June 2022, she had run for the 8th constituency of Val-de-Marne (Charenton-le-Pont, Joinville-le-Pont, Maisons-Alfort and Saint-Maurice).

In vain.

She was eliminated in the first round.

The Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor recalls that ministers and parliamentarians cannot be decorated in the exercise of their functions, with the exception of Prime Ministers.
