The work of the Knesset moves up a gear - at this time the meeting of the Israel Beitenu faction is taking place • The overlaps in government ministries continued: Foreign Minister Cohen said he intends to establish relations with other countries: "It's a question of when" • Communications Minister Karai: "We will open the market to competition" • Minister Culture and Sports Zohar: "Works that damage the good name of Israel will not be funded"

The first week of the government has started and at the same time the work of the Knesset is moving up a gear.

At this time (Monday) the meeting of the Yisrael Beytenu faction is taking place, and the chairman of the party, Avigdor Lieberman, spoke at its opening and said: "The coalition agreements are pure pigs - this government is the end of Zionism." Later, the faction meetings of the state camp, Yesh Atid and religious Zionism will be held.

In the meantime, the ministerial exchange ceremonies and the overlap meetings continued today as well.

MK Shlomo Karai replaced Yoaz Handel in the Ministry of Communications, MK Eli Cohen replaced former Prime Minister Yair Lapid in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MK Miki Zohar replaced MK Hili Trooper in the Ministry of Culture and Sports, MK Idit Silman She replaced Tamar Zandberg in the Ministry of Environmental Protection and MK Yitzhak Wasserlauf replaced MK Oded Porer in the Ministry of Development of the Negev and Galil.

"Foreign Minister Eli Cohen held an overlapping meeting with the Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister, MK Yair Lapid, during which the two discussed the foreign relations of the State of Israel with an emphasis on Israel-US relations, the Iranian threat and the promotion of peace relations with the countries of the Abraham Accords," the ministry said the outside

The new foreign minister, Eli Cohen, said in the text of the exchange of ministers: "I mean the establishment of diplomatic relations with additional countries. The year 2023 is a year of opportunities. The Abraham agreements have proven their contribution to the countries that took part in them. The expansion of the agreements to additional countries is not a question of whether but of when The countries of the world recognize that the nuclear agreement with Iran is no longer relevant. There is no substitute for Israel-United States relations. The relationship with European countries must be deepened."

The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alon Oshfiz, said at the ceremony: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has proven its excellent capabilities time and time again.

We ask for recognition and a proper reward for what we do."

At the ministerial exchange ceremony at the Ministry of Communications, outgoing Minister Yoaz Hendel said: "The role of the Ministry of Communications is to be a friend. Here we made a revolution in connecting the country from one end of the country to the other with optical fibers. Dramatically lowering prices on the home internet, competition in the periphery, privatization of the post office, entering the 5th generation."

"I arrived at a battered and bruised office after my predecessors got confused and put the blandness as the main thing and dealt with articles and not infrastructure. Instead of effective reforms they had to deal with interrogation rooms. In addition to the lack of understanding of what this office does, they wasted their time. Many years in which the citizens of Israel lagged behind countries in the world In Africa there were fibers. In Ramallah there were fibers and here they still thought that the Ministry of Communications was messing with articles in the newspaper. I'm not a magician, I just sat and learned what needs to be done. Logic always wins," added Handel.

Incoming Communications Minister Shlomo Karai said: "Forty-one years ago, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, 5772, while I was in my mother's womb..., Prime Minister Menachem Begin claimed in a television interview that: 'Those who work in the media are the group that actually runs the Editing the news and the like, this group interprets the concept of governmental as anti-governmental.

It wasn't like this before.'

There was nothing like this in the past, said Menachem Begin.

Fortunately, forty-one years and nothing has changed.

"I claim statehood," Begin said at the time.

"In other words, every serious public tone should be given expression on television and radio."

"As then, so today. There are still voices that are not heard enough in the Israeli media," said the incoming minister.

"In order for us to succeed in producing a model company here, we must give expression to the variety of voices that together create who we are. We will work to open the media market to real competition, and as a result of this, fairness, transparency and quality will be strengthened, and the magnificent mosaic of the entire Israeli public will be expressed in a balanced way."

At the exchange ceremony at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the incoming Minister Miki Zohar said: "We will not fund works that will damage the good name of the State of Israel in Israel and in the world. We will make sure to deny budgets that promote the narrative of our enemies. Terrorists and martyrs will not be presented as Israeli-funded heroes and soldiers will not be presented as murderers."
