The last chance for the race this year is on February 12th.

The presidency was re-elected at the annual meeting.

Gaißach – The daring Gaißacher Schnabler riders were last able to start in 2019 and head for their destination over the Gerstland slope.

So it's about time for a new edition of this carnival fun, according to the mood recently at the annual meeting of the Gaißach Schnabler and Sledge Club in the Gasthaus zur Mühle.

This year's relatively short carnival offers five possible dates for the performance of the spectacle: the first opportunity would be on Sunday, January 15th, the last chance on Sunday, February 12th.

At the moment the weather doesn't look like it at all, but that could still change.

Last meeting was 2019

The last annual meeting was held in 2019.

As then, regular elections were scheduled for the current meeting.

President Balthasar Brandhofer and his deputy Martin Rest were unanimously confirmed in office.

Treasurer Gerhard Endrich, his deputy Georg Schmid and secretary Florian Weber will also remain in their posts for another three years.

System manager Alois Willibald, parking lot attendant Michael Gilgenreiner, safety officer Peter Wasensteiner and traffic officer Jakob Haslinger made themselves available again - they were reassigned accordingly.

New route manager

There were personnel changes in the office of the route manager and his deputy, most recently held by Hans Fischhaber and Stefan Brandhofer.

Both no longer ran.

Her successors were Georg Fischhaber jun.

and Hans Willibald elected.

The two who left were given a gift for their long-term commitment – Hans Fischhaber was a member of the committee for 18 years and Stefan Brandhofer for 12 years.

The wives, who have to lend a hand with the organization when “a Rennats” takes place, were also included in the thanks.

There are two registration days

President Brandhofer explained that should a sufficiently white surface be achieved in the coming weeks, the participants in the race would have to take a few changes into account.

Due to the general renovation of the Gasthof zur Mühle and the spatial conditions as well as taking into account the hospitality for the guests, the registration and the celebration after the race were moved to the shooting range, which the marksmen kindly made available.

A safety briefing is also scheduled there on both registration days in the evening – attending this is mandatory, emphasized Brandhofer.

"Safety is important," emphasized Mayor Stefan Fadinger.

The association recently bought additional back protectors that the participants could borrow, according to the president.

The race day itself begins in the morning with a common Weißwurst breakfast in the "Mühle".

"And then we'll set off together to Gerstland."

"Annoyance Ball" on February 18th

Should the white splendor fail to materialize, the “Trouble Ball” is planned for Saturday, February 18th at the Gasthaus Isarwinkel.

The partial "relocation" of the association from its decades-long headquarters in the "Mühle" was received with regret and mild criticism on the one hand and with understanding on the other.

Vice President Martin Rest appealed to the younger members in particular to compete with a few teams in the horn sled race in Garmisch.

A watt tournament is also planned during Lent after a long pandemic break.
