Throughout their lives, they will always feel something very special when they celebrate their birthday: three New Year's babies were born in Munich.
Munich – Many Munich residents could hardly wait for the new year – at least there was a lot of gunfire and shooting everywhere in the city well before midnight.
And little Ludwig didn't want to leave: he was born on Sunday at 12:36 a.m.
This makes him the Munich New Year's Baby 2023.
Munich: When Ludwig was born, there was still heavy shooting outside
"Everything happened pretty quickly," recalls Mama Stephanie Widmann.
“The fireworks outside were in full swing – but I only got a glimpse of it,” she says and laughs.
Ludwig is 56 centimeters tall and weighs 4170 grams.
His little brother Alfons (2) was also born in the Großhadern hospital.
Because Mama Stephanie trusts the doctors at the LMU Clinic.
She was treated there herself for her heart defect.
Luckily, little Ludwig is doing well - Mama Stephanie and Papa Andreas are very happy about that.
Mom will soon be allowed to go home with her Ludwig to Markt Indersdorf in the Dachau district.

Julian was born a few hours after Ludwig, namely at 4.06 a.m. in the Munich Clinic in Schwabing.
It's been a busy night for him and his mom, Miriam Bishop.
"I was in labor for more than 24 hours - but it was worth it," says the new mother.
Julian is 52 centimeters tall, weighs 3210 grams and is the first child of Miriam and her husband Jamie.

Sledjana Dragic gave birth to little Uros at 8.28 a.m. in the Helios Klinikum Munich West.
The boy weighs 4080 grams and is 56 centimeters tall.
Papa Dejan and little brother Dusan (1) could hardly wait, because Uros was supposed to come on Christmas Eve.
Now he's not a Christkindl, but a New Year's baby - one way or another, he has taken his parents' hearts by storm.
"The second we saw him, he gave our lives new meaning," says Mama Sledjana.
What three cute Wuzerln to start the new year!
