The last day of 2022 was very sad for Catholics around the world affected by the death of Benedict XVI.
Saturday morning, we learned that the pope emeritus, who had renounced his papal office in 2013, had died at the age of 95, uttering a last prayer – “
Lord, I love you
” – before expiring.
Since then, emotion has seized many faithful Catholics who testify to their esteem and admiration for a discreet, humble pope, endowed with an intelligence as few exist and who was an immense theologian.
This first letter of 2023 hopes to find you in great shape and sends you its best wishes for the coming year.
