Two members of parliament from the opposition in Senegal, West Africa, were sentenced to six months in prison today (Monday) after they kicked a pregnant member of parliament in the stomach during a budget debate.
The two MPs, Mamadou Niang and Masata Sembe, attacked their colleague, Aimee Ndiaye, after she criticized a religious figure in the opposition.
In the documentation of the event, Samb is seen walking towards Nadiaye during the hearing and slapping her.
Ndiaye responded by throwing her chair at him, but at the same time another man kicked her in the stomach.
After that, a fight broke out among the other members of parliament.
She was evacuated in extremely serious condition, and there was a fear that she would lose the baby.

Following the kick, Member of Parliament Ndiaye fainted on the spot and was taken to the hospital.
Dina's update stated that she is afraid that she will lose the baby, and that her condition is extremely difficult.
Despite the incident being recorded, Niang and Samb's lawyers argued that the two MPs did not attack Ndayi.
Also, the lawyers tried to claim that the members of parliament are immune from prosecution.
However, it was finally decided to sentence them to six months in prison, and to pay Nadiay compensation in the amount of approximately 8,100 dollars.
