Two people were killed in a landslide in Tsuruoka, northeastern Japan.
Xinhua news agency quoted local officials as saying in a press statement today that a landslide 20 meters high occurred on Mount Hana in Yamagata Prefecture, in the northeast of the country, killing a man and his wife, in addition to damaging ten buildings. The two bodies were taken to the hospital and the site of the collapse was examined. ".
The officials added that a team of 200 people from the police, firefighters and Ground Self-Defense Forces has conducted the search operation since the landslide was announced.
