At the beginning of 2023, older adults in Mexico should be aware, because in the first days of January they will receive their welfare pension, as long as they are enrolled in the social program of the Government of Mexico.
Ariadna Montiel Reyes, head of the Welfare Secretariat, said this Monday at the government's morning conference that just over 11 million beneficiaries of the "Pension for the Well-being of the Elderly" program will receive their support for the January-February two-month period.
For the payment of the program in this two-month period, the Government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador will invest 52,589 million pesos, added Montiel Reyes.

The Secretary of Welfare reported that the pension for the elderly will have an increase by 2023 and also gave details of when the money will be given to the beneficiaries.
How much does the Welfare pension increase for 2023?
Montiel Reyes commented that the pension for the Well-being of the elderly will increase 25% by 2023, so the amount they will receive will go from 3,850 pesos to 4,800 pesos per two-month period.

He also explained that the government's plan is for support to increase another 25% by 2024.

When is the bimester January-February received?
The Welfare Secretary said that registered older adults will receive support for the January-February period starting this week.
The distribution of the money will be made by initial letter of the last name for older adults who already have a bank card registered in the program.
The order is as follows:
A, B, C as the first letter of the last name - The deposit is made on Wednesday, January 4.
Letters D, E, F, G, H - Thursday, January 5.
I, J, K, L, M - Friday, January 6.
N, Ñ, O, P, Q, R - Monday, January 9
S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z - Tuesday, January 10

For older adults who are in the program, but do not have a card due to the lack of banks in their places of residence, the dispersal of support will be made in cash.
In this case, people must be aware of the call that the Secretary of Well-being makes in their communities.
Cash delivery will take place from Monday, January 9 to Sunday, February 5.
The distribution of the Welfare pension in cash will be made for almost a month.
