Will Chumash be resettled? A first step to regulating the yeshiva at the outpost Israel today

2023-01-02T08:46:27.471Z

The political echelon announced that it intends to act to change the provisions concerning the stay of Israelis in the country by amending the Law of Disengagement • The Yesh Din organization responded: "This is a violation of international law"

After the settlement of the outpost was included in the coalition agreements:

the state announced this morning (Monday) in its position at the High Court of Jumesh of its intention to regulate the sit-in instead.

The political echelon announced that it intends to act to amend the instructions concerning the stay of Israelis in the Hamash outpost and thus bring about its regularization.

Since the changes will directly affect the status of the petition, the state requests additional time during which we will be updated on the progress.

According to the coalition agreements with religious Zionism and Otzma Yehudit, the Yeshiva's stay in the Chomash will be regulated through an amendment to the Law of Disengagement.

If indeed this happens, it is a dramatic change compared to what has been happening in the last 17 years in the place.

A few months ago, a petition was submitted by the left-wing organization Yesh Din demanding to vacate the yeshiva, which has been operating as an illegal outpost in recent years.

The High Court ordered the state to respond to the petition by today.

In the past, the state addressed the matter.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that Chumash must evacuate, but the timing is sensitive.

Mish Dean said in response: "Regulating the Chumash outpost is a violation of international law, and will deepen the oppression and dispossession of the Palestinian residents who own the land there, the Chumash outpost is on private land and cannot be regulated."

This is what robbery and theft look like under the authority of the law.'
