A verbal argument at the Erlangen train station developed into a physical argument.

A 20-year-old was pushed into the track bed.

Erlangen - Already in the night of New Year's Eve an incident occurred in Erlangen, which probably did not end badly due to an attentive engine driver.

According to this, a 20-year-old was around 1.45 a.m. with an acquaintance on the platform of track 3 at the Erlangen train station.

There he got into an argument with a group of young people or adolescents for reasons that are still unclear, according to the police.

The initially verbal argument developed into a physical argument, during which the young man was beaten.

Then a stranger from the group pushed the 20-year-old into the track bed.

Train driver prevents collision with man in Erlangen – witnesses wanted

"The train driver of an arriving train recognized the situation and was able to prevent a collision with the 20-year-old by braking accordingly," the police continued.

The companion and another passer-by then helped the young man out of the track bed.

Luckily he only suffered minor injuries.

The unidentified group of people then boarded the train and drove away.

The Erlangen Criminal Police Department has started the investigation and is now asking witnesses to the incident or passengers on the train who can provide information on the identity of the unknown group of people to contact the police on 0911 2112-3333.

He barely survived - but his leg had to be amputated.

This is the bitter record of Amahdi N.: The 38-year-old was pushed in front of the incoming S-Bahn at Stachus in November 2021.

As a witness, he now had to testify in court against his tormentor.

The police also reported the incident on Facebook.

“Incredibly sad and frightening is the willingness of these young people to use violence, most of them only strong in a group.

Many thanks to the attentive train driver who recognized the situation and acted.

A big thank you also to the people who helped the young man.

I hope the group can be identified and punished quickly!

Just cruel!

All the best to the young man and a speedy recovery,” a woman commented on the mission report.

"I wish the 20-year-old, the train driver and everyone involved in the incident all the best and hope that they will be able to process what happened at some point," writes another person.
