As part of a $107 million contract: Elbit Systems will provide simulation centers to the Armored Corps • On the menu: weapons and armament training under documentation that will enable advanced investigation

Elbit Systems announced this week that it won a contract totaling approximately 107 million dollars to supply, operate and maintain the new simulation and training centers for the battle tanks of the IDF Armored Corps.

The mission of the training centers is the training of the commanders and fighters of the Armored Corps and maintaining the competence of the regular formation and the reserve formation.

The centers will be provided over a period of three years and the contract includes operation and maintenance services for an additional period of 15 years.

The future simulation and training centers will operate on the IDF cloud using Elbit Systems' OneSimTM. This is a cloud-based infrastructure software for simulation that does not depend on the type of platform.

The IDF's new training systems for the chariot tanks will include driving instructors and tank crew with accurate physical models. The training systems will also integrate operational subsystems of the tank, simulating primary and secondary capabilities of weapons and armament.

The goal is to allow tank commanders and fighters the ability to experience a variety of realistic challenges from the battlefield.

The systems were designed with individual training and unit training up to the company level.

The new training centers will incorporate dedicated positions, which were designed to train the team together with the collection forces and the combat and logistical support, thus enabling the training of all the elements of the company combat team in operational combat scenarios.

On top of that, advanced integrated recording and investigation capabilities will allow replay of events, documentation and monitoring of trainees' performance from the training phase to training during reserve service.

"We are proud to support the IDF's efforts to raise the level of training of the commanders and fighters of the Armored Corps.

Militaries around the world are reshaping their training capabilities in an effort to improve both readiness and effectiveness.

Winning this contract emphasizes the leading position we have in this field," noted Bezalel (Butsi) Machlis, president and CEO of Elbit Systems.
