Starnberg - The Christmas holidays are over, the Christmas tree has needles and is already decorated on the terrace or on the balcony.
But what to do with the obsolete copy?
The waste disposal company Awista in the district of Starnberg has advice.
The municipal company Awista-Starnberg announces that the Christmas trees can be handed in at the recycling centers in the district of Starnberg.
At the same time, the municipal company asks the citizens to chop up the decorated Christmas tree with garden shears and pack it in a sack before it is taken to one of the 17 recycling centers in the Starnberg district.
Opening hours on the website and the Awista app
All facilities are accessible in January during the well-known winter opening times.
The current opening hours can be found on the website at www.awista-starnberg.de/entsorgungseinrichtungen/ or the Awista-Starnberg-Abfall-App.
The municipal company will also open the green waste collection point in Hanfeld and the recycling center in Gauting-Buchendorf to the public as follows to make it easier to dispose of the Christmas trees:
Green waste collection point Hanfeld, Hanfelder Straße 100 (near the depot)
Saturday 7 January from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m
Recycling center Gauting-Buchendorf, Neurieder Straße 44, 82131 Gauting-Buchendorf
Saturday, January 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m
As in the previous year, the Gilching volunteer fire brigade is also offering a special campaign at the green waste collection point in Gilching, Herbststraße.
The trees can also be disposed of there free of charge.
