Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (SPD) has already attracted negative attention when she let her son fly on a government plane.
Especially when it turned out that Lambrecht shot the helicopter photo of her son herself.
He posted it on social media, setting off an avalanche of amused reactions to his "helicopter mom."
Now Christine Lambrecht has caused criticism herself: on Sunday, January 1, 2023, she posted an Instagram video in which she thanks the Bundeswehr forces and talks about the Ukraine war.
New Year's Eve firecrackers and rockets bang in the background - the politician can hardly be understood.

Christine Lambrecht: Minister of Defense receives criticism for Instagram video
In her New Year's video (see below), Lambrecht says that the year 2022 presented everyone with incredible challenges.
"A war is raging in the middle of Europe." She herself celebrates the turn of the year with family and friends.
"I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all those who cannot do this because they are on duty for us, as soldiers or police officers, in the hospital or in other areas."
According to the German Press Agency (dpa)
, Lambrecht received
a lot of criticism from other politicians for her speech in the New Year's Eve fireworks.
Some are calling for her resignation.
The CDU defense politician Serap Güler suggested Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) to dismiss the defense minister.
Lambrecht also has to listen to a lot on Twitter.
Her video (for which comments are disabled on Instagram) has been cited several times and presented by some as a negative example of political communication.
Because, as political scientist Johannes Hillje (who gave us an assessment of the right-wing “disgusting automatism” in acts of violence like in Illerkirchberg) tweeted, this “first and foremost requires political intuition.
