An IDF soldier was killed tonight (Tuesday) after being hit by a bullet at the Anat base near Jerusalem. After resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation shows that the soldier was hit by a stray bullet from his friend, and the circumstances of the incident are being investigated. The incident took place in a company of the Erez Battalion of the Military Police. In which Noa Lazar, who was murdered in an attack at the Shuafat checkpoint about three months ago, also served.
In April 2020, an IDF officer was injured by a bullet fired from a fighter's weapon, during a practice before moving to a guard post in Hebron.
The officer was evacuated in moderate condition for medical treatment at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
Following the incident, the General of the Central Command then decided to stop training.
