In its weekly session today, chaired by Eng. Hussein Arnous, the Council of Ministers affirmed that all ministries should prioritize work to implement the 2023 plan, focus on implementing priority projects that achieve added value in terms of increasing production, and improving the reality of services provided to citizens in various sectors.

The Cabinet discussed ways to benefit from the medical cadres working in public agencies for as long as possible, in a way that contributes to strengthening the capabilities of the national medical and health system.

The Council condemned the attacks of the Israeli enemy on Damascus International Airport, which are inconsistent with all international conventions and covenants that prohibit attacks on civilian airports. Engineer Arnous stressed that the recent bottlenecks in oil derivatives are on their way to a breakthrough in light of the frequent arrival of supplies according to a specific program, in a way that improves securing the demand for the substance, reiterating the emphasis on the ministerial committees to develop visions and proposals for various economic and service issues according to the available capabilities and resources.

The Council agreed to invest a number of fuel stations belonging to a fuel company in a way that enhances the availability of the substance in the markets according to the possible limits.

The Council approved the draft national water policy in Syria for the coming period in light of the challenges facing the water reality and the frequency of droughts as a result of climate change, with the aim of ensuring water security. The importance of optimal investment of water resources, reduction of waste and loss, application of water legislation and raising awareness to reduce water waste was emphasized. A study was drawn up to enhance water resources.

The Council approved the decision that includes provisions for granting a one-time loan to state workers (civilian and military) and retirees at a value of 420,000 Syrian pounds for a year, and the state’s public treasury bears all the financial burdens resulting from that, noting that the banks providing the loan are (Syrian commercial, real estate, savings, Popular credit) and without a guarantor for permanent workers.

The Council reaffirmed the provision of all facilities to the private sector as a key partner in the process of economic construction, reconstruction and revitalization of the investment reality and the productive process.

The Council approved the completion of cladding works for block / C / in the expansion project of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Damascus, and the completion of the rehabilitation of the Tartous silo. .

The council also agreed to hold a competition to appoint a number of diplomats to vacant positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
