Leung Chun-ying, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and former chief executive, said today (January 3) that Hong Kong is ready to go. It is expected that after the official customs clearance, the relationship between Guangdong and Hong Kong will be "explosive."

Leung Chun-ying visited Guangzhou Nansha Minxin School for Hong Kong Children, which he led and established today. He was interviewed after the event and said that Hong Kong and the mainland have very close relations in various aspects. At the social level, there are currently about 370,000 Hong Kong people living in the mainland. Before the epidemic, 200,000 residents came to Hong Kong every day for various reasons. They hope that normal exchanges can resume as soon as possible after customs clearance, so that people from the two places can increase exchanges, so that social relations, family relations, and economic relations can maintain normal.

As for whether Guangzhou Nansha Minxin School for Hong Kong Children will have special arrangements or activities after customs clearance, Leung Chun-ying pointed out that parents and students will basically be able to meet every weekend.

He also said that after customs clearance, it will be convenient for the school to recruit high-quality teachers from all over the country and even the world. The school's new enrollment work will also be announced in a short time.

Leung Chun-ying said that the school has already made many plans for the end of the epidemic one day. In addition to the above-mentioned family level, the school also contemplates exchanges with "sister schools" in Hong Kong.

He pointed out that the 1,200 boarding places at Minxin Children's School can be vacated on weekends for students from the "sister school" exchange group to live in, and use the school as a base to travel, visit, and study in different places in Nansha.

He believes that the epidemic will pass soon, and Hong Kong, Nansha, other mainland cities, and even foreign countries will soon be connected.
