Legal advisor to the government Gali Beharev Miara informed the government ministers that she will participate in the government meeting today (Tuesday).

This will be the second meeting of the government without the participation of Beharv Miara, after the first festive meeting of the government was not invited.

It is not yet clear whether another representative of the legal counsel will participate in the meeting on her behalf.

Beharev Miara met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Justice Minister Yariv Levin this week, amid tensions ahead of the High Court hearing tomorrow on the appointment of Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri as minister, and calls by senior members of the coalition for her dismissal.

Ministry of Justice officials claimed that Beharev Miara is not coming to every meeting, but only if a legal issue arises. The sources also said that the adviser did not participate in government meetings in the past, unless there was a special need. According to the sources, the legal adviser to the government announced that she would not come to the meeting most weeks since her appointment.

Beharev Miara is expected to present to the High Court today her opposition to the appointment of the chairman of Shas as a minister. According to her view, Deri's appointment is unlikely, against the background of his recent conviction for crimes and transfers for which he was convicted in the past. However, she will not oppose amending the Basic Law: The government that allows Deri to serve in the position of minister due to the fact that he was convicted without an actual prison sentence.

In the position of the advisor that was formulated following the petitions submitted to the High Court against Deri's appointment to the position of Minister of the Interior and Minister of Health as well as against the amendment of the Basic Law of the Government, Rabbi Miara is expected to claim that in accordance with the Deri-Pinhasi rule called In the name of Aryeh Deri, the appointment of the latter to the position of minister is unlikely - and this is due to the conviction that Deri is carrying with him.
