Schwabsoien's Mayor Manfred Schmid wants to push things forward in the new year.

The kindergarten has priority, but building areas and the topic of energy are also on the list of projects for 2023.

Schwabsoien – From the “Kirschbichel” development plan to wind turbine plans in the priority area: a lot happened in Schwabsoien in 2022.

As Mayor Manfred Schmid reveals in an interview with the SN, he would like to look at even more completed projects.

"If I had done everything, the list for the new year wouldn't be so long," says the mayor, who moved into the Schwabsoien town hall almost three years ago.

Schmid has the most important projects for 2023 on the table in bullet points.

Childcare is at the top of the list.

"We have to make the kindergarten more resilient in the long term - both in terms of staff and the premises," says Schmid, formulating his goal.

Kindergarten: increase staff to better cushion failures

As recently as September, the community was “very satisfied” with the number of staff.

The situation changed when the head of the kindergarten left the facility at the turn of the year because her husband had to move for work.

This is a gap that urgently needs to be closed, says Schmid.

Otherwise, the kindergarten should be increased in terms of staff in order to better cushion failures.

The "Kirschbichel" development area, on which planning permission was obtained after more than half a century, will remain a major topic in the new year.

The sewer pipes will soon be laid and road construction will begin, explains Schmid.

"The development work should be completed by the beginning of November." The municipality also wants to start awarding the first plots of land in 2023, "but not before the second quarter".

Wind turbine plans and photovoltaic expansion are on the agenda

Schwabsoien will also continue to work on the expansion of renewable energies.

For the three to four wind turbines in the priority area, which the municipality is planning with citizen participation in the Sachsenried forest, the contracts with residents are to be concluded in 2023.

The goal is to start building the wind turbines in 2025, according to Schmid.

The municipal council has also decided to formulate the guidelines for open space photovoltaic systems, which will have been dealt with in 2022.

"Here we want to advance at least one project." PV systems on community roofs should also move more into the foreground.

Schmid sees challenges in negotiations with the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising

On the subject of the heating network, Schmid explains that Dorfenergie GmbH will expand its supply network.

Further local areas and streets are to be connected to the heating network.

In addition, preparations are being made in Schwabsoien for a crisis.

"We want to further expand the blackout precaution," says Schmid.

For this purpose, the two "lighthouses", i.e. the fire stations, are to be equipped to be crisis-proof.

A large number of projects – but what is the greatest challenge?

"I think in the negotiations with the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising on the area at the farmer's inn," says the mayor, who hopes for an agreement in the dispute over the property.

"It would be very important to me if we could tick this box in 2023."
