After the increase in prices and the election promises:

in the coming days, Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to announce the freezing of electricity, water and property taxes. This was learned by "Israel Hayom". Last night, we will recall, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened the first economic discussion with Finance Minister Smotrich, Economics Nir Barkat, Prof. Avi Simhon and Finance Minister Sharia Damsky.

These are measures designed to provide an immediate response to the wave of price increases even before the submission of the budget, which will be submitted to the government only in about a month and a half at the earliest.

The goal is to create an immediate "cooling effect" for the public, which is already collapsing under the burden of rising prices and with the understanding that approving the budget will take time.

According to the estimate of the manufacturers' association, the cost of the "freeze" of the generators of inflation - electricity, water and property taxes - will amount to approximately NIS 4.5 billion.

In the future, within the framework of the budget, the intention is to present a plan to lower the cost of living, among the prominent sections of which we can mention, among others, the distribution of food stamps, increasing credit points, increasing the work grant and more.

In a statement issued by Netanyahu after the debate, it was stated that "the cost of living does not stop rising, including today.

When I entered the Prime Minister's office four days ago, I understood why - because the Lapid government did not take even the most minimal steps to stop this gallop.

That is why I am convening a first economic discussion with the Minister of Finance to formulate the initial emergency measures to fight the cost of living for the sake of the Israeli economy and for the citizens of Israel.'

Yesterday we will recall that the governor of the Bank of Israel raised the interest rate in the economy to its highest level since 2008 - 3.75%.

The increase in the monthly repayment of the mortgage payments joins other price increases that took effect at the beginning of the month, including the increases in the electricity rate by 8.2%, the water rate by 3.5%, the property tax rate by about 1.4% and the price of fuel by 9 EG per liter.

This is in addition to the rising prices of food products, cleaning and toiletries, and for some of the public also the rent.
