There was a police operation in Alfons Schuhbeck's restaurant "Südtiroler Stuben".
Animal rights activists had caused a lot of unrest there.
Munich – The days of the “Südtiroler Stuben” are numbered.
Shortly before the end things got hectic again on Friday evening in the fine restaurant of star chef Alfons Schuhbeck.
Around 6:30 p.m., a group of animal rights activists stormed the restaurant in downtown Munich and occupied some tables,

The aim of the action was a protest against meat consumption and for animal welfare.
An employee dialed the emergency number, and shortly thereafter the police appeared.
The animal rights activists were asked to clear the restaurant and to send their personal details.
There should be one last hurray in the "Südtiroler Stuben" on New Year's Eve.
A New Year's Eve gala is planned here on the evening before closing – including a menu for 195 euros.
The star chef wrote on his website: “Be there when an era comes to an end and a culinary chapter closes.
After 19 years, the 'Südtiroler Stuben' at the Platzl in Munich will close.
With a brilliant evening and a culinary farewell.”

Schuhbeck himself had little to smile about in 2023.
He faces imprisonment next year.
He was sentenced to three years and two months in court for tax evasion.
He owed the state a total of 2.3 million euros.
The 73-year-old appealed against the verdict.
If he withdraws this, he will probably have to go to prison at the turn of the year.
