Sergey Krikalev, Executive Director of Manned Flight Programs at the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos), announced that the final decision on returning the Soyuz MS-22 to Earth will not be taken on the 27th of this month.
Russia Today quoted Krikalev as saying that a meeting will be held on this day dedicated to this issue, but it will not result in a final decision. Will be taken next year.
Krikalev indicates that the decision regarding the Soyuz MS-23 flight, previously scheduled for March 16, 2023, will be taken depending on the final decision on the fate of the Soyuz MS-22, explaining that this decision was postponed due to the state of emergency, as it will impose certain restrictions on flight program, which will force us to make additional decisions next year regarding spaceflight.
It should be noted that the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft is located at Baikonur Cosmodrome, and may launch on February 19th instead of March 16th as previously scheduled, while Ross Cosmos experts hope that the crew of the spacecraft will return to Earth soon. board in the second half of next March.
