The formation alleges that it lacks structure to complete the lists with trusted people and avoid "paratroopers"

last December 29 in Soria.

Soria NOW!

look at Madrid.

The platform that a year ago decided to run for the first time in the elections for the Cortes of Castilla y León —and achieved 42% of the votes in the province and three seats— has as its next stage in its growth to gain a foothold in Congress of the Deputies.

For this, there are two electoral steps left and, the recently constituted as a political party has decided to skip the first to gain momentum and overcome the second: the formation renounces to attend the municipal elections in May and focus on the general elections at the end of 2023. Soria! ALREADY!

alleges that they lack structure to fill the lists with trusted people and avoid "paratroopers".

The group swept the regional elections last February and with this measure they aspire to arrive strong at the national event.

The president of the party, Silvia Largo, justifies this decision by "coherence".

“We have always defended running for the Junta de Castilla y León and for the general elections;

We do not have enough capacity to face the challenge [of the municipal ones] without leaving municipalities behind," says the Soriana, who advocates "focusing all efforts on Madrid and Valladolid [the headquarters of the Congress and the Board], which is where they decide the investments for Soria”.

Why empty Spain is filled with provincial parties

Soria NOW!

It has calculated that to present lists to the 11 towns in the province with more than 1,000 inhabitants, they needed 172 candidates, a number that they still lack.

“We are showing that we do not want charges for charges;

we could have many mayoralties, but consistency says that we focus on Madrid and Valladolid ”, insists the president.

Soria is the peninsular province that contributes the fewest seats to Congress —two acts, which since 2004 have been divided between the PP and PSOE—, as well as three seats in the Senate.

Teruel Exists, the Aragonese group, the reference model for Sorianos, achieved in 2019 a deputy and two senators.

And Tomás Guitarte's seat in Congress has been key to budget negotiations or to win majorities.

Optimism is the flag of the party's general secretary, Ángel Ceña, also a solicitor in the Cortes, who does not rule out obtaining the two parliamentarians in contention for the province in the general elections within a year.

He got more votes in February than the PP and PSOE combined, but in the general elections he would need an even more overwhelming victory to win those two seats.

Ceña explains by phone that the strategy of resigning from the municipal ones has surprised his political environment, and even the president of the Board, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco: "He asked me why we did not introduce ourselves."

The parliamentarian details that the party still lacks sufficient popular roots to ensure these small fiefdoms and that the philosophy of the social movement was from the beginning to put pressure on the bodies that decant investments.

“We have always criticized sending paratroopers to the towns.

We have been a party for a week and we are going to open the affiliation, and there we will be able to consolidate the building from the base for future municipalities ”, Ceña explains.

"It happened to Ciudadanos with the defectors, we don't want to include people we don't know," emphasizes the Soriano.

National sources from España Vaciada, the grouping of political platforms focused on depopulation, justify the change of prism: “The vision is no longer local, but national.

They are strategic movements with the final objective of the generals of 2023″, they remark.

These voices admit that "muscle is lacking" because it is "a young party" and that they should learn from experiences such as the regional ones in Castilla y León, when Soria ¡YA!

it triumphed but the twin candidacies of Palencia, León, Valladolid, Burgos and Salamanca did not achieve representation due to their low social implantation.

The province of Soriana has 183 municipalities and it is still unimaginable, Ceña ditch, to have firm lists to enter their municipalities.

Fundamental problems, such as the lack of coverage that interrupts the telephone conversation with the parliamentarian,
