From the Assault Brigade to the Ministry of Education:
MK Yoav Kish today (Tuesday) appointed Brigadier General Assaf Tselal, commander of the multi-armed Assault Brigade in the IDF, to the position of Director General of his designated office.
The appointment was made after the agreement of Chief of Staff Kochavi and the approval of Defense Minister Galant to release him from the IDF.
Brigadier General Tselal (45) is a fighter pilot, just like Education Minister Yoav Kish. "After many good years of joint combat flight, the two will now lead the state educational challenge in Israel.
In the past decade, the Brigadier General has been devoting his free time to volunteer educational activities in schools in the periphery and fulfilling educational dreams for struggling students and training young teachers," the Ministry of Education said.

The Ministry of Education said that Major General Tselal had one request - to continue to lead, also in combat, the general assault complex that he established in recent years.
Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi responded to the request of the Minister of Education and with the consent of the Minister of Defense approved the immediate retirement of the officer from a long and significant permanent service in the IDF.
Kochavi congratulated Brigadier General Tselal on his kind. The timing of his entry into the position of Director General of the Ministry of Education will be agreed upon in the coming days after approval by the government and subject to the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Civil Service Commission.
