With which travel documents can you go to Egypt?
A valid identity document and a visa are required to enter Egyptian territory.

If you are a French national, you can travel to Egypt with only your passport or identity card.
Please note, however: these documents must be valid for at least another six months after the date of your return to France.
To travel to Egypt, a tourist visa is also required.
This must be requested from an Egyptian consulate.
Application which can be made online seven days before departure or upon arrival in the country.
If you want to get your visa done when you arrive in the country and if you arrive with your only identity card, don't forget to bring two passport photos with you.
These will be attached to the form you fill in to obtain your visa.
If it initially covers one month of stay there, you can extend the visa at the immigration office.
Note: if you are traveling only with your identity card, this extension can only be for a maximum of thirty days.
