A single mother shared in a post on Facebook that although she works two jobs, she is unable to properly manage her household. "Most of us are not members of the Knesset," she said, and said that due to the situation, she had to tell her family that she could not purchase a coat for her, "We will buy you a coat next week and in the meantime will you wear the hoodie?"

Katie Schorcher Smith, a single mother of two, offered one of her kidneys for sale in a Facebook post yesterday (Monday), so that she could finance her household.

According to her, her ex-wife does not live in Israel and does not pay alimony, but she is a full-time employee, and works an additional job selling cakes and desserts from her home, and still, does not earn enough to finance the monthly expenses.

"If you hear of anyone looking to buy a kidney, please contact me. Still a bit undecided, but prostitution seems less relevant to me right now, although maybe one day... who knows?", she wrote, adding, "What do I really want? To make a living With respect? To put food on the table for my daughters and not say 'we'll buy you a coat next week and in the meantime you'll wear the hoodie?'

Don't be afraid to go to the garage to fix the car instead of jumping it with capacitors 3-4 times a day because there is simply no way to pay for it right now?", she explained.

"What do I really want? To earn a decent living?".

"3 years ago I was fired from a good job after 14 years (downsizing... what to do?) and instead of sitting as much as possible at the expense of the state, I took a job at half the salary of what I had. My unemployment was more than what I earned in the first year at my current place. Today I receive more But it has long been insufficient. So I also opened a small business. I bake cakes and desserts at home and sell at reasonable prices so that every child has the opportunity to get a cake as beautiful as the "expensive one." So after 9 hours in the office, I start baking - even on weekends" , said the mother.

"But even that is no longer enough. I'm suffocating," she admitted.

"On January 1, they raised my rent by NIS 1,000. And this is in a subsidized long-term rental apartment, and even after this increase, the price is below what is happening in the market. And this is an increase after 3 years, and in the next 4 it will only increase relative to the index. But what To do that with two jobs I don't have - I don't have!!!!!! - How to finance it!".

In her words, Smith also referred to the salary of Knesset members, which has recently increased, "They receive it whether they come to the plenary debates or not," she said.

"But most of us are not members of the Knesset. Yes, there are people in Israel in a much worse situation than mine. But I will not live on the street. I have a good kidney that I can sell and buy myself another year or two of peace."
