Jeremy Renner grew up with his four younger brothers in Modesto, California, where his parents ran a bowling alley.
His arrival in the world of acting was almost random, according to the actor's own account.
"It was pure luck. It started in college. I took an acting class as an elective and that's how everything changed for me," he explained in an interview with

It was not his only role in the industry.
When he was in his 20s, early in his acting career, Renner was also a makeup artist for eight years.
"Dahmer", the kick to stardom
The leading role that would give way to Hollywood was in the movie “Dahmer”, from 2002. “This movie means a lot to me.
It did well for me, in the sense that people within the industry saw it and noticed me, ”he said about it in his interview with Vanity Fair.
His performance as serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer was the reason director Kathryn Bigelow cast him in the lead role of "The Hurt Locker."

The film was nominated for nine Oscars, including best actor for Renner, for playing a sergeant assigned to the bomb squad in the Iraq war.
