Washington-SANA

A teenager was killed and another man was wounded in a shooting incident outside a shopping mall in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

And the Fox News news website stated that the incident occurred yesterday outside the Castleton Square shopping center in the far east of Indianapolis, where a man was killed in a similar incident inside the center in 2020 and another was injured in the same location in 2021.

The new incident adds to a series of shooting killings that have turned into a stigma that has stigmatized American society, especially in the past few years, as the Gun Violence Archives organization that specializes in following up these incidents and gun-related crimes in the United States has published new statistics showing that more than 130 people were killed and injured. More than 300 more across America during the first days of 2023.

According to the data of the non-profit organization, 131 people were killed accidentally or intentionally using firearms, including two children and 11 teenagers, and 313 others were injured in separate parts of the United States.

The organization classified 6 incidents as mass shootings, with more than four people injured during each separate incident since the beginning of the new year.

While the United States frequently witnesses violent incidents and shootings in schools, roads, and homes, resulting in dozens of deaths, data from the Gun Violence Archives organization showed that the number of child victims of this spiral of violence exceeded 6,000 children killed or injured last year, which is the highest number of deaths and injuries in any country. The number of children recorded by the organization in its 9-year history is higher than the recorded number of child victims of gunfire in 2021, which is 5,708.

Despite US President Joe Biden signing a new bill restricting gun possession in the United States last June, the controversy over the right to own weapons is expanding in the United States, and crimes related to the spread of firearms in American society are increasing dramatically.
