In Germany, most corona measures have been abolished.
Nevertheless, individual regulations continue to apply in the federal states - for example the obligation to wear a mask in public transport or isolation in the event of a positive corona test.
A survey by the editorial network Germany (RND) shows that the majority of the federal states want to stick to the obligation to wear a mask on public transport at least in January and February.
Only in Bavaria, Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony-Anhalt is there already no longer a mask requirement in public transport.
All other federal states will keep them for the time being.
Wearing the mask in local public transport should also help prevent avoidable infections in the coming weeks, according to the RND, a spokeswoman for the Hamburg social authority.
But then it will "have done its job," according to Hamburg.
The tone is similar in NRW: Maintaining the mask requirement serves to prevent further burdens on practices and clinics, but the state government wants to reassess the corona situation in the spring.
Saxony also wanted to consult with doctors on this at the beginning of January.
Berlin remains cautious
Bremen, Lower Saxony and Thuringia, on the other hand, have already decided on a specific date for the abolition of the mask in public transport.
The three countries want to give them up in March if the corona situation does not worsen by then.
For the time being, Berlin does not want to give up either the mask or isolation requirements.
The endemic phase is not a sufficient reason to suddenly drop all proven precautionary measures, says a spokesman for the Berlin Senate Department for Health.
