Good news at the start of the year for Bordeaux swimmers.
Located in the Bastide district, on the right bank of Bordeaux, the Galin swimming pool will be able to welcome the public again, from January 2023. The establishment has been closed since September 2014.
This Tuesday, the swimming pool safety commission, chaired by Mathieu Hazouard, deputy mayor in charge of sports and relations with associations and sports clubs, gave a favorable opinion for the reopening of the establishment.

In 2019, the discovery of asbestos in the ventilation ducts of the Galin swimming pool led the municipality to close the establishment, to begin major rehabilitation work.
This work has incorporated several new features: the creation of a green outdoor beach, water games for children, a paddling pool and a 60m2 physical preparation room.
