Tehran-SANA
Today, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the French ambassador in Tehran, Nicholas Rush, to protest against the behavior of a French newspaper that insults religious authority, sanctities, and religious and national values.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani affirmed that his country will never accept offense to sanctities and its Islamic and national principles, and that France has no right to justify this offense under any pretext.
Kanaani held the French government responsible for the repercussions of this abhorrent behavior, pointing out that Iran reserves the right to take an appropriate response to this measure.
In a related context, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said: We will not allow France to cross its borders, indicating that the abusive and inappropriate behavior of a French magazine in publishing offensive cartoons will not remain without a decisive and effective response.
