Ten-year-old Ma'ayan Odia was seriously injured yesterday (Tuesday) after a bus transporting children collided with a truck in a car accident that happened on Highway 1 near the Letron interchange.
The other forty bus passengers, including children, were slightly injured, and were taken to hospitals for medical treatment.
As of this time, Maayan's condition is defined as very serious, and she is sedated and ventilated in the pediatric intensive care unit at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
Her family called on the public to pray for her.
"When I stood in the canopy I prayed for the children. Even in my imagination I did not believe that I would receive something as amazing as a spring," wrote her mother Esther in a post she published on her Facebook account.
"I only ask that you take a book of Psalms and read. That you come back to life, and come back well. I know there are miracles."

MDA emergency medic Idan Liebman, who was the first to arrive at the scene of the accident last night, said: "I saw a bus that had been hit by a truck and its front part was crushed inward and I immediately understood that it was a bus transporting children.
The bus driver and the guide gave first aid to the unconscious girl who was sitting in one of the front seats.
I instructed the accompanying parents to take the rest of the children off the bus to a safe place, I sent a report to the MDA center about the number of casualties and their condition and gave the girl who suffered from a severe multi-system injury first aid that included dressings, immobilization and giving oxygen.
We quickly transferred her to the MDA intensive care vehicle which arrived first to the scene and she was taken to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. The additional large forces of the MDA provided medical treatment to the 40 bus passengers and the truck driver who were slightly injured and they were taken to the hospitals in a stable condition."
