At least nine people were killed and several others injured today in two simultaneous car bomb attacks in a town in central Somalia.
A local security official told AFP: "Terrorists attacked the town of Mahas this morning, using two booby-trapped vehicles," noting that they targeted a civilian area, and it was confirmed that nine people, all civilians, were killed in the two explosions.
Somalia has been witnessing terrorist acts for years, as the extremist Al-Shabaab movement linked to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda launched bloody attacks in Mogadishu and other parts of Somalia, killing and injuring thousands.
