Road transportation in Aleppo: more than 2.5 billion pounds, the value of the implemented projects

The Director of the General Branch of Road Transportation in Aleppo, Eng. Ali Al-Khuwailed, announced that the cost of the projects implemented by the branch amounted to two billion and 540 Syrian pounds during the past year.

Al-Khuwailed explained in a statement to SANA that the implemented projects included the termination of the contract for completing the implementation of the southern Aleppo detour at a cost of 395 million pounds, the implementation of a project to rehabilitate and maintain the Aleppo-Azaz highway with a length of 28 kilometers and a cost of 342 million pounds, and the maintenance project for the Aleppo-Raqqa highway with a length of 110 kilometers, round trip. At a cost of 455 million pounds.

He added, “Among the implemented projects are also the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Aleppo-Urum-Bab Al-Hawa road at a cost of 357 million pounds, and the maintenance of the Aleppo-Damascus highway back and forth, starting from node zero at the western entrance of Aleppo to the governorate’s border with Idlib, at a cost of 347 million pounds, and the implementation of works to guarantee Traffic safety, including road painting on the southern Aleppo shunt, and road painting works on the Aleppo-Damascus road.

And Al-Khuwailid indicated that the Foundation has set in its plan for this year to complete the implementation of contracts concluded with public sector companies to rehabilitate the “Assan Bridge” on the southern extension, in which the value of the implemented works amounted to 500 million pounds, and the Neirab Bridge, and the value of the implemented works amounted to 100 million pounds, pointing to the signing of contracts For the maintenance of the Aleppo-Damascus road at a value of 220 million pounds, and other main roads, in addition to continuing the maintenance of the Aleppo-Raqqa road, and completing the maintenance of the Aleppo-Khanaser road, while the rehabilitation of the villas tunnel on the southern Aleppo detour was awarded to the Military Housing Corporation at a value of about 450 million pounds.
