The US Embassy in Havana, Cuba, resumed visa and consular services on Wednesday.
A December 30 embassy press release said that, effective January 4, “full immigrant visa processing to include immediate relative, family preference, diversity visa, and K fiancé(e) visa categories would resume.” )”.

The Embassy said the US was working to ensure the “safe, legal and orderly migration of Cubans” by expanding consular operations in the Cuban capital and restarting the Cuban Family Reunification Parole Program.

The Biden administration announced the resumption of visa and consular services in September 2022 as part of a concerted effort to expand legal pathways to the United States.
This is the first time the US has resumed full immigrant visa processing since 2017. The announcement came as border officials are grappling with increasing numbers of Cubans at the US southern border.
