The US Meteorological Service has warned that California will experience a powerful storm that will bring heavy rains, which could lead to catastrophic flooding.
According to the French Press Agency, the authorities called on the residents of the state to prepare for this strong depression that is expected to hit the Pacific coast of the United States today and tomorrow, warning the residents, saying: “The expected storm is really brutal, and it should be taken seriously.”
She added: The storm will cause widespread flooding, submerged roads, landslides, falling trees, widespread power outages, immediate disruption to commerce and, worst of all, potential loss of life.
After suffering from drought for years, the West Coast of the United States has been witnessing for weeks a series of storms that have caused heavy rains, reaching near-record levels in some places.
Some areas in Northern California are still suffering from the effects of a powerful New Year's Eve storm, causing landslides, power outages and one death.
