This "made in France" shampoo is the cleanest of the moment according to "60 Million consumers"

The National Consumer Institute has unveiled its "cleanest cosmetics list" of the year. In the shampoo category, a French product tops the list.

Consumers are increasingly concerned about the impact of their beauty products on their health and on the environment.

Brands have understood this and have been stepping up their efforts in this direction for several years, thus participating in the growth of “clean beauty”.

In France and in Europe more broadly, cosmetic regulations are reputed to be one of the strictest in the world.

This does not prevent the National Consumer Institute (INC) from monitoring the content declared on the bottles in order to identify the ingredients, admittedly authorized, but less safe than others or controversial.

Just in time to inaugurate the year by making good resolutions in the bathroom,

the magazine of the

INC, thus unveils its list of “cleanest cosmetics” in its January 2023 issue.

A total of 76 products representative of the market from four families (moisturizing creams, shower gels, deodorants and shampoos) were screened.

A “Cosmeto'Score” has been assigned to them, reflecting the safety profile of all the ingredients it contains, according to their importance in the formulation and their cumulative effect.

It takes into account their impact on health (70% of the score) and on the environment (30% of the score).

The notes are hierarchized from "A" (in green color, which indicates an article without reservation of use) to "E" (in red, the use of which is not recommended).

And the cleanest shampoo is...

In this selection of 18 shampoos, one of them rises to the top of the rankings with the excellent grade of “A”.

This is the Douceur de lait d'amande prebiotic powder shampoo from Yodi, a young French brand known for its products of natural origin.

Its minimalist and waterless formula is composed of only 11 ingredients and free of preservatives.

It ranks on par with two other hair care products, the No-shampoo (no poo) shampoo kit with the “Do it Yourself” recipe from Waam and the Cherry and sweet almond detangler for children from Cosmia Kids (Auchan).

Furthermore, the INC points out that the only certified “natural” cosmetic selected in this category (the moisturizing shampoo with coconut oil from the Nature Box brand) comes out with a Cosmeto'Score of “C”.

A note explained in particular by "a combination of irritating, sensitizing ingredients" and a washing base "at risk for the environment".
