The weather in Germany seems to be undecided: sometimes higher, sometimes lower temperatures are forecast by the weather models.

In a recent forecast, no winter is in sight again.

Stuttgart - The weather in Germany seems to be taking a 180 degree turn.

While the temperatures were still freezing at the beginning of December and hopes for a white Christmas were high, the weather at the turn of the year was almost spring-like in some areas.

According to qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung from

wetter.net

, the changeable behavior of the temperatures will continue for the time being.

As late as Monday (January 2), a weather model predicted that Germany in the north-east would be grazed by the "Siberian whiplash of cold" from Thursday (January 5) to Saturday (January 7).

In addition to significantly cooler temperatures, even snow or sleet was expected there.

But the latest predictions are already showing the complete opposite.

"January is really warming up," says the meteorologist.

Weather expert warns of a total "winter blackout" and "black heat mountain" in January

Weather expert Dominik Jung spoke of a "shocking winter forecast" for January, February and March last week (December 30, 2022) - this now seems to be confirmed, at least for January.

In view of the weather maps, it looks like a total "winter blackout", as

wetter.net

writes.

"It's getting cooler in the north-east, but it's just not enough for the onset of winter with a blanket of snow.

The cold whip is just too weak,” says Jung.

For mid-January, a "black heat mountain" is predicted over Germany, as diploma meteorologist Dominik Jung shows on the weather map.

The records of the weather station observatory in Jena "shot the bird": Temperatures of 17 degrees were measured there - these temperatures have never been recorded there.

In Germany, the weather remains slightly too warm for the time of year at 6 to 7 degrees.

Temperatures could rise further towards the middle of the month.

"The black heat mountain is then exactly above Germany," warns the weather expert.

In the north it should then be up to 12 degrees and in the south up to 8 degrees too warm.

"Winter simply doesn't have a chance, at least not according to today's early forecast until January 15th," concludes Dominik Jung.

Outlook for the first week of January: It will be mild and rainy

According to the graduate meteorologist, an "intermediate high" was noticeable this week before it got a little wetter and less friendly.

On Tuesday (January 3rd) the temperatures are still between 6 and 10 degrees.

For Wednesday (January 4th) 9 to 12 degrees are forecast, but the wind will increase and there will be rain in some places.

The weather will remain mild on Thursday (January 5), but also wet and cloudy.

The temperatures are between 8 and 13 degrees.

On Friday (January 6th) there will be heavy rain in northern Germany with temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.

In the south it should remain dry at 10 to 12 degrees.

Even at the weekend and in the coming week, the temperatures will remain less wintry and will be between 2 and 12 degrees.

"The weather situation is simply deadlocked," says Dominik Jung.

"You think it can't get any worse, but somehow it's getting worse." The polar vortex in the Arctic, which often influences the weather in Germany, will not help this year in terms of winter weather, the weather expert predicts.
