Recently, a number of district citizens assured that they had seen a wolf in the Ebersberg forest.
There is no evidence.
It would still be possible to visit the animal.

- The lower nature conservation authority in the Ebersberg district office has been informed.
"We didn't find any clues," said deputy head of department Roswitha Holzmann when asked by EZ.
She was there in the forest herself to check the statements.
The fact that nothing was discovered does not mean that no wolf was there.
"Possibly a young animal that migrated through," says the biologist.
Possibly a migrating juvenile
Heinz Utschig, head of the Wasserburg state forests and responsible for the Ebersberg forest, sees it similarly.
It is unlikely that a pack could settle here, he says.
Too little space and too many disturbing people who use the forest as a recreational area.
"Wolves don't like a forest with an S-Bahn connection," says Utschig.
If there was a wolf in the forest, it should have disappeared by now.
The animals are usually shy and avoid people.
However, Utschig advises walkers with dogs to leash their animals for safety.

Holzmann also assumes that a possible wolfish visitor in search of a new pack has already disappeared again.
"We didn't have any new reports of sightings." The animal could already be far away.
"A wolf can travel 50, 60 kilometers in one night."
Documented: Sheep killed by a wolf in 2015
The most recent sighting of a wolf in the Ebersberg district was in April 2021 by a hunter near Aßling.
A "visit" in April 2015 was clearly documented, when a wolf killed sheep on a large pasture of the then district chairman of the farmers' association Franz Lenz at his farm near Zorneding.
