On video: documentation from the shooting scene in Rishon Lezion (MDA)
A well-known contractor resident of Rishon Lezion, about 60 years old, was shot to death today (Thursday) near the gas station on Maccabim Ir Road.
The police started investigating the circumstances of the case.
Upon receiving the report of the shooting, an MDA team arrived at the scene and found the man seriously injured. "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the injured man sitting in a vehicle suffering from penetrating injuries to his body," said MDA paramedic Oded Shinkman.
"We took him out and put him in an intensive care vehicle, we gave him medical treatment that included dressings and medication and evacuated him to the hospital when his condition was serious."
He was later pronounced dead at Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Hospital.
The police opened an investigation following the incident.
Rishon Lezion police officers searched the area for suspects, and collected documentation around the scene and forensic findings.

Earlier today, a 35-year-old man was moderately-severely injured by a shooting in Acre.
The shot was aimed at him from a vehicle that passed him on Ben Ami Street in the city.
The background to the case is apparently criminal.
The 35-year-old owns a hookah shop in the city, and is known to the police.
He was shot in the legs.
The MDA team that was called to the scene gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya. In the meantime, police forces began collecting evidence and findings from the scene as part of the investigation that opened, along with extensive searches to locate the suspects in the act.
