Al-Hasakah - SANA
The General Corporation for Drinking Water in Al-Hasakah called on the people of the city of Qamishli to take precautions and store water, before starting the maintenance of Al-Hilaliya station.
The Director of the Water Corporation, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Akla, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the Corporation will start the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Al-Hilalia water station next Sunday, for a period of fifteen days, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Al-Akla indicated that as a result of the maintenance work that will take place at the station, water will be cut off from subscribers in the neighborhoods of (Al-Wusta, Al-Gharbi, Bloudan and its surroundings, Al-Kornish, Tai and Zanoud) during the maintenance period, calling on the people to take precautions and store water before the cut-off period.
It is noteworthy that the water pumping station in Al-Hilaliyya contains 51 wells, and quenches about 80 percent of the need of Qamishli, while the rest of the city's need is provided by the Uweja station, and from 13 wells in the city.
