For hours, two Israeli Arabs worked on stealing trailers from Kibbutz Rosh Zurim without anyone noticing • After an intelligence operation, the two were caught, and now the police have returned the trailers to their owners • Inspector General Ronan Ben Moshe: "This is part of our mission"

About nine months ago, two trailers were stolen from Kibbutz Rosh Zurim in Gush Etzion.

About a month after the robbery, the thieves were caught and an indictment was filed against them.

Today (Thursday) the police returned the trailers to their owners.

"This is part of our mission as uniform wearers."

It was a difficult farce for a kibbutz that was supposed to be secure.

On April 23, 2022, late at night, two Israeli Arabs arrived at Kibbutz Rosh Zurim in Gush Etzion driving a towing vehicle.

They entered two trailer trailers that were in the parking lot.

One of the robbers approached the trailers, broke the lock, connected the trailers to the tow truck in the vehicles they came with - and the two fled the scene with their loot.

The robbery was discovered only the next morning, much to the embarrassment of the kibbutz's security personnel.

The police opened an investigation and following intelligence activity, the two thieves were caught.

About a month after the robbery, an indictment was filed against the two, residents of East Jerusalem in their 20s.

The two were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and two counts of vehicle theft.

Now the circle is closed.

This morning the Etzion station commander, Deputy Chief Yuval Reuven, and the station's intelligence and detective officer, Inspector General Ronan Ben Moshe, returned the trailers to their excited owners.

"After great efforts made by the officers and policemen of the station, today we were privileged to return the valuable trailers to their owners," said Inspector Ben Moshe. "This is part of our mission as uniformed officers and we are happy with the result.

We will continue to work to apprehend those property criminals who harm the personal safety of the citizen and we will find justice with them as much as necessary."
