, the legal proceedings initiated by Chems-Eddine Hafiz against the writer could be dropped.
The rector of the Great Mosque of Paris had filed a complaint on Wednesday, December 28 against Michel Houellebecq, for “
provoking hatred against Muslims
”.
The comments referred to had been made in Michel Onfray's magazine,
Front populaire
, which reported on forty-five pages of a conversation between the writer and the philosopher.
Two excerpts taken from a long reasoning were incriminated.
