If the trend is towards clean beauty to satisfy consumers who are increasingly concerned about what they are putting on their skin, not all products play the game. The magazine
60 million consumers
unveils a new list of winners in its January issue dedicated to the cleanest cosmetics.
Shower gels, shampoos and deodorants are screened according to the Cosmeto'Score system with a classification from A (without reservation of use) to E (use not recommended - the magazine then specifies that they "present no danger but a risk", especially with daily use, which is the case with this type of care).

As the publication explains, here, it is not the effectiveness that is measured, on the other hand we consider the safety profile of all the ingredients taking into account “their effect on health (70% of the note) but also [...] on the environment'.

Most problematic category
What challenges in these different rankings?
The very poor scores of ranges dedicated to the male public.
For moisturizers, only one (Nivea Men's Protect & Care Moisturizing Cream) out of the four selected obtains a Cosmeto'Score of A and half earn an E.

But the most problematic category remains that of deodorants.
Seven products (among them Mennen, Ax or Brut) were tested.
With health scores oscillating between D and E for 6 of them.
And this, regardless of the format (compressed aerosol, ball or stick).
The reasons for these poor scores?
Sensitizing fragrance substances, “preservatives sometimes suspected of being endocrine disruptors (benzyl salicylate, salicylic acid and benzophenone).
And molecules aimed at limiting the proliferation of bacteria responsible for bad odors.
An alarming finding that relegates them to the dead last in the ranking of the magazine, which nevertheless tested 22 products.

Aluminum salts
The only one that stands out is the antiperspirant Etiaxil with a health score and a Cosmeto'Score of B. But since it is an antiperspirant, it contains aluminum salts, which are quite decried because they are suspected of having carcinogenic effects and being endocrine disruptors.
Hence the recommendation not to use them on injured or freshly shaved or depilated skin.
