The Church has lost a humble pope, a man of faith, and a recognized theologian.
Since the last day of the year 2022, tributes abound after the discreet death of Benedict XVI, who lived in the shadow of the century a life of silence and prayer since his historic renunciation of the See of Peter in 2013.

".

A very rare occurrence in the history of the Church, of the four popes who preceded him, three were canonized and one was beatified.
We have to go back to the 8th century, then even further under the Western Roman Empire to find such harvests of great popes.
