The Haimhauser honorary office award goes to the diversely committed Christiane Kettinger.

Haimhausen – The best came at the end: Christiane Kettinger received the Haimhausen Volunteering Prize as part of the annual celebration of the Haimhausen Municipal Council.

The volunteer of the Haimhauser Kulturkreis is an outstanding personality in the local network.

Mayor Peter Felbermeier emphasized that the awarding of the honorary office prize is a good tradition and that the chosen one was also determined by a resolution of the municipal council.

There were no two opinions about Christiane Kettinger: "For decades, she has been particularly committed to the community." With the award, the municipal council also wanted to show that voluntary commitment is recognized and greatly appreciated.

Christiane Kettinger, who was born in Hesse, moved to Haimhausen 40 years ago and was told about the neighborhood help by her neighbor Ulla Thönnissen.

In the 1980s there was the children's park, where babies and children up to three years of age were looked after so that the mothers could go shopping, for example.

That was the start of volunteering.

The next stop was the adult education center.

Christiane Kettinger took over the management from Susanne Rohfing and was then at the forefront of adult education for ten years.

Mayor Peter Felbermeier spoke of a successful time: "You have always set yourself new goals and developed the Haimhausen preschool with great ambition." In 2006, Kettinger shifted her commitment to the cultural sector.

In 2006 she took over the public relations work of the culture group, which organizes many events and has to advertise them well.

"The culture group has achieved a value that is second to none," praised the mayor in his laudatory speech.

Despite the intensive commitment to the culture group, the Haimhausen resident was also at the forefront when the group of helpers supported refugees who had arrived in the community in 2015 and 2016 and integrated them into society.

In her function as deputy chairwoman of the adult education centre, Christiane Kettinger was primarily concerned with offering the refugees the opportunity to learn the German language.

In addition, she was also active in this commitment in public relations and initiated a broad support of the helper group.

Felbermeier reached deep into the box of words of praise: “With your voluntary work, you are a role model in our community.

They make an indispensable contribution to our community by connecting people of different ages and milieus, designing something locally and moving a lot.” That is why she deserves the volunteer award for 2022.
