Tehran, SANA- The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned in the strongest terms the offensive behavior of a French newspaper to the religious authority

Tehran-SANA

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms the behavior of a French newspaper that insulted religious and national reference, sanctities, and values in Iran, and said: The work of the French Iranian Studies Society will be suspended in protest.

The ministry added in a statement today: These practices are another indication of Zionism's encroachment on the media to promote hostility to Islam and spread hatred and division between societies and people.

The statement indicated that what the French newspaper had done for many years in using the noble concept of freedom of expression as a cover for its anti-cultural actions, and the desecration of man and human, moral and religious dignity is a continuation of publishing offensive cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in previous years, which angered Muslims all over the world.

The statement stressed the need to seriously deal with the misuse of the original values of freedom of expression, whose survival and consistency are limited to respect for humanity and the religious and national sanctities of all human beings, pointing out that the Iranian people’s demand for the French government to hold accountable the perpetrators and promoters of the recent acts will be followed up seriously, and appropriate measures will be taken in this regard. .

Yesterday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the French ambassador in Tehran, Nicholas Rush, against the background of the offensive behavior of a French newspaper, stressing that Tehran will never accept insulting the sanctities and its Islamic and national principles, and that France has no right to justify this offense under any pretext.
