Nine members of Knesset from the coalition factions today (Thursday) sent a letter to Defense Minister Galant in which they demanded the cancellation of the administrative order issued against Ariel Dahri, a resident of Samaria, a few days before his wedding.

The order forbids Dehri to leave the area where his parents live.

MK Limor Son Har-Malech: "A scandalous decision, there is no place for such orders against activists in the settlement"

The order, signed by Home Front Command Major General Uri Gordin, forbids Dahri to leave the borders of the settlement of Nof Ayalon as well as contact dozens of his friends.

As a result of the order, Dehri is prevented from carrying out the wedding arrangements as well as entering the apartment he rented in Yad Binyamin after his wedding in a few days.

The letter, which was initiated by MK Limor Son Har-Malech of Otzma Yehudit, is signed by her faction members Brigadier General (res.) Zvika Fogel, Almog Cohen and Yitzhak Kreuzer, Knesset members Nissim Vatori and Tali Gottlieb from Likud, Knesset members Moshe Salomon and Ohad Tal from Religious Zionism and MK Avraham Bezalel of Shas.

"Several days ago, the commander of the Home Front Command, who is under your responsibility, signed an administrative restriction order against Ariel Dahari, a 21-year-old resident of Samaria," the MKs wrote in their letter. His parents live.

Dehri and his heart's choice, who are a few days before their wedding, have finished with the wedding preparations and closing the hall.

"In addition to this, the young couple signed a contract for a residential apartment in the settlement of Yad Binyamin. Despite what is written above, the commanding general made a scandalous decision, without a trial and evidence, to issue a warrant against Dahari, without considering the circumstances, and without any criminal evidence against him," the MKs described the severe injury".

According to them, "This order is serious first of all because it comes as part of a political persecution that is being carried out against the youth of the hills and the population of the settlers - a persecution in the framework of which dozens of administrative restriction orders are found every year against activists in the settlement, without a shred of evidence against them regarding a particular offense they committed, and all this in order to stop their activities the ideological.

"This order is doubly serious because it was given at such a sensitive time, without taking into account his basic needs at the significant point in time in his life," they added and emphasized.

"We hereby appeal to you: exercise your authority in the matter and order the commanding general to cancel the order. There is no place for issuing such draconian orders against activists in the settlement."

The MKs also added in their letter and said that "we demand the cancellation of administrative arrest warrants against activists in the settlement, and if an activist has committed one offense or another, the police are invited to bring him into custody, and open a normal criminal procedure against him - as in any routine arrest." At the very least, We request to allow Dahari and his partner to move the address of the Yishuv detention he was assigned to the Yishuv Yad Binyamin, where Dahari is studying, and where they signed a residential contract. We also request to allow him to make all the necessary wedding arrangements," the MKs signed their letter.

"The settler population suffers from persecution"

MK Limor Son Har-Malech, who initiated the appeal to Galant, said in response: "For years, the settler community has suffered severe persecution from some of the state authorities who treat them as second-class citizens without rights.

This includes issuing draconian administrative orders without trial and without evidence, originally intended as ticking bombs, but now used for thought policing and stopping ideological activity.

"This thing needs to stop, and immediately. There is no room for issuing such orders against settlement activists.

In the upcoming Knesset, I have enshrined on my flags the cessation of the use of such orders for political persecution, and the cessation of the persecution against the population of the settlers," Son Har-Malech added.
