To alleviate them, something from the spice rack should help.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), almost 15 percent of women and six percent of men are affected in Germany.

Classic painkillers provide rapid relief for many patients.

However, if the drugs are taken regularly and over a long period of time, they can put a strain on the body.

In the event of an attack, however, you can also use various home remedies.

In the spice rack in particular, there is a small, natural miracle cure for migraines: cinnamon.

With the help of cinnamon you can refine food and drinks and also do something good for your health.

According to a study published in the specialist journal

Phytotherapy Research

, the spice can help to reduce the severity of a migraine attack.

For the study, the study participants were divided into two groups, all of which regularly suffered from migraines: one group took cinnamon capsules for two months, while the other group received placebo capsules.

The analysis finally showed that the frequency, duration and strength of the migraine attacks in the participants who took the cinnamon capsules were significantly lower than in the control group.

According to the scientists, cinnamon must therefore be able to have a positive effect on the pain caused by migraines.

Those affected can therefore take cinnamon in the form of capsules or stirred into a drink against headaches.

However, further studies are needed to prove the actual effect of cinnamon on migraine attacks.
