The head of the Syrian Society for Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that ectopic pregnancy is considered one of the most important emergency cases in the field of obstetrics, and that late diagnosis of it can lead to catastrophic consequences for the mother’s life and fertility. As for early diagnosis and management, it leads to avoiding complications, pointing out. He stressed the need to develop an action plan in line with evidence-based medicine to deal with all kinds of cases according to the latest studies, with the aim of improving the quality of medical practice, which will positively affect the health of patients and society in general.

The head of the Syrian Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Raphael Atallah, indicated that the international recommendations are directed towards the management of ectopic pregnancy through laparoscopy, which facilitates the operation and speeds up the recovery period, as the surgical opening procedure has become only in emergency cases, indicating that a great deal of work is being done to train resident physicians to Modern technologies according to the latest medical equipment.

Director of the General Authority of Al-Zahrawi Hospital in Damascus, Dr. Ali Mohsen, pointed out that the incidence of ectopic pregnancy is one percent of pregnancies, explaining that the factors that increase ectopic pregnancy are smoking, alcoholic beverages, and the use of contraceptives at an early age.

The specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Dima Adwan, stressed the importance of focusing on the first trimester of pregnancy and follow-up with the doctor to take early treatment measures in the event of an ectopic pregnancy and to avoid serious complications, such as heavy bleeding, loss of one of the ovaries, or death, indicating that early diagnosis we can From the application of drug treatment and avoid surgical intervention.

In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr. Hussein Al-Najjar, indicated that the Foundation is constantly seeking to spread medical and health awareness through seminars and specialized workshops.
